Amaravati, October 15, 2025:

Google unveiled a $15 billion investment to construct a massive AI data centre in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, positioning it as the company's largest such facility outside the United States.

The five-year project, announced at the Bharat AI Shakti event in New Delhi with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and CM N Chandrababu Naidu present, addresses surging AI needs amid global power strains.

Google Cloud's Karan Bajwa dismissed bubble fears: "It's a deep investment in building AI infrastructure."

The hub will process trillions of tokens daily, fueling consumer and enterprise tools while offsetting US grid pressures where data centres could consume 14% of power by 2030.
