Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Green Bharat Mission in New Delhi, a bold push to elevate India's renewable energy share to 65% by 2035 through targeted expansions in solar, wind, and hydrogen infrastructure spanning multiple states. The initiative, launched amid COP30 talks, commits ₹10,000 crore initially to accelerate grid upgrades and off-grid solutions, addressing the current 42% non-fossil target.
Modi stressed the need for "energy independence without environmental cost," integrating community solar farms and hydrogen pilots in coastal regions.
