Supreme Court approved green crackers for Diwali in Delhi

The Supreme Court cleared the way for "green crackers" during Diwali in Delhi-NCR, allowing low-pollution variants to ease festive spirits while upholding the ban on conventional fireworks that choke the capital's skies.

The court ordered to run the sales from October 15th to 25th at designated sites, while permitting the bursting of green crackers from 6 am to 8 am and again from 8 pm to 10 pm. The judgment emphasised the need for a balanced approach while permitting celebration without compromising the environment.
