Trump to host all five central asian leaders in washington
Donald Trump will meet leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in Washington, as the US, EU, Russia, and China vie for regional influence.
Newsroom, November 06, 2025: US President Donald Trump will host all five Central Asian leaders in Washington on Thursday for the first time, months after they held separate summits with Russia’s Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping.
The leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will attend the summit. Washington and the European Union have stepped up diplomatic efforts with these landlocked nations, which gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, following the first US-Central Asia summit in 2023.
Earlier this year, EU chief Ursula von der Leyen, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and China’s leader Xi Jinping all visited the region for summits with the five leaders. All countries are drawn by Central Asia’s vast but largely untapped natural resources, aiming to diversify rare earth supplies and reduce reliance on Beijing.
