Newsroom, November 03, 2025: A catastrophic collision between a tipper truck and a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway near Mancherial district early Monday morning left 19 people dead and at least 20 others injured, turning a routine journey into a scene of devastation.

The bus, carrying 45 passengers from Hyderabad to Adilabad, was hit head-on by the speeding truck around 4 a.m., crumpling the front and ejecting several occupants onto the road. Rescue teams battled flames from the truck's load, while locals helped pull survivors from the wreckage.

The death toll includes 12 women and three children among the bus riders; the truck driver died on the spot. Police suspect the truck veered into the wrong lane due to fatigue or mechanical failure, with FIRs under sections for rash driving and causing death by negligence.

Telangana Transport Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy visited the site, announcing ₹5 lakh compensation per family and free treatment for the injured. The tragedy highlights the perils of undivided highways, prompting calls for better lighting and barriers.
