Newsroom, November 05, 2025: Gopichand Hinduja, the influential head of the Hinduja Group and one of India's wealthiest families, died in London on November 4 at the age of 85 following an extended period of illness. As the eldest son of founder Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja, Gopichand steered the multinational conglomerate into a powerhouse with interests in banking, automobiles, energy, and media, growing its global footprint to over 40 companies and a combined revenue exceeding $20 billion annually. 

Born in 1940 in Karachi, Gopichand moved the family headquarters to Geneva in 1979 and London in 2006, embodying the group's ethos of "service before self." Under his stewardship, the Hinduja Group expanded into diverse sectors, including the acquisition of PentaMedia Graphics and stakes in Gulf Oil, while maintaining a low-profile approach to philanthropy in education and healthcare.

His death leaves the family business in the hands of brothers Prakash, Srichand (deceased in 2023), and youngest Ashok, with Gopichand's sons Dheeraj and Gaurav poised to lead the next generation.Tributes poured in from business circles, praising his vision in bridging East and West.
