TDS Rule Changes
- Senior Citizens: The TDS threshold for interest income has been doubled to Rs 1 lakh. No TDS will be deducted if interest earnings remain below this limit.
- General Citizens: The TDS limit on interest income has been raised from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000.
- Lottery Winnings: TDS will now apply only if a single transaction exceeds Rs 10,000, up from the earlier cumulative limit.

- Mutual Funds and Stocks: The TDS exemption limit on dividend income has been raised from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
These changes aim to reduce the tax burden on individuals and provide financial relief to senior citizens, investors, and commission earners.
