Andhra Pradesh kicks off P4 initiative on Ugadi eve

Amaravati saw the launch of the ambitious “Zero Poverty - P4” initiative on March 29, 2025, as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled the program on the eve of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year. Aimed at eradicating poverty by 2047, P4—short for Public, Private, People Partnership—seeks to bridge economic gaps by connecting the state’s wealthiest 10 percent with its poorest 20 percent through collaborative efforts.

Naidu, joined by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, launched the program at a grand event attended by over 11,500 people, including self-help groups, farmers, and students bussed in from across the state. “P4 is about empowering the underprivileged, not just aiding them,” Naidu said, framing it as a cornerstone of his Swarna Andhra-2047 vision. The initiative offers housing, water, and job opportunities, backed by data-driven strategies to classify and uplift families.

The timing, tied to Ugadi’s promise of new beginnings, struck a chord. Kalyan hailed it as a shift from past governance, saying, “We’re giving stakes in growth, not seeking them.” With a festive air sweeping Andhra Pradesh, P4’s launch marks a bold step toward a poverty-free future, rooted in community and innovation.
