Amaravati, March 27, 2026: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has directed officials to accelerate two key central schemes PM Surya Ghar and the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme to deliver cleaner power faster across the state.
In a review meeting on Friday, the minister set a clear target of at least 2,000 free solar rooftop connections per constituency, with special focus on Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe households.
He also ordered immediate clearance of all pending agriculture power connections before the next cropping season to ensure reliable supply for farmers. Officials from the DISCOMs were told to fix infrastructure gaps and work in mission mode for better service delivery.
