Amaravati, March 26, 2026: Forest officials in Chittoor district took a key step toward reducing human-elephant conflict on Thursday.

At the Gajaramam Kumki elephant camp in Palamaner, wildlife expert Rakesh Kalva from Hyderabad trained frontline staff from Kuppam, Palamaner, and Punganur ranges on the Gaja Praja mobile app.

The app allows quick reporting of crop damage, accurate data entry, geo-tagging of locations, and faster claim submissions for compensation.

Trainers stressed better coordination between departments, transparent processes, and scientific tracking of elephant movements. They also plan to promote the app widely among villagers in affected areas.
