Amaravati, March 25, 2026: Prakasam district police took firm action against unsafe vehicle modifications on Wednesday. Officers crushed the seized items with a road roller at the district police office in Ongole, in the presence of Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju.

The special drive targeted two-wheelers and autorickshaws fitted with loud silencers that create excessive noise and bright headlights that blind oncoming drivers.

Police said these changes often reduce visibility and raise accident risks on busy roads. The SP warned motorists against fitting such illegal parts and urged everyone to follow traffic rules, avoid wrong-side driving and careless overtaking. He also called on the public to support road safety efforts.
