Amaravati, March 25, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh government is pushing to make the Government Medical Teaching Hospital at Piduguralla in Palnadu district fully operational soon.
State Health Secretary Saurabh Gaur reviewed the progress on Wednesday and directed officials to finish all work on time. Outpatient services are set to start by April 15, followed by a trial run after April 1.
The government has applied to the National Medical Commission for approval of 100 MBBS seats, with admissions beginning in the 2026-27 academic year. Construction must wrap up by the end of May to meet inspection norms.
Officials are also focusing on recruiting doctors and paramedical staff, while ensuring water, power, sanitation, security and transport links are ready. Palnadu district Collector Kritika Shukla has asked teams to keep supplies uninterrupted.
