Newsroom, March 25, 2026: Monalisa Bhosle, the young woman known as the “Kumbh Mela girl,” held a press conference in Kochi on Tuesday and accused director Sanoj Mishra of serious misconduct.

She claimed the alleged behaviour occurred on the sets of her debut film Diary of Manipur while she was still a minor, including inappropriate touching. Bhosle said she informed her family at the time, but they did not act, fearing loss of opportunities.

Accompanied by her husband Farman Khan, she also spoke of death threats and posters being burnt after her recent interfaith marriage.

She urged the Centre and state governments in Kerala and Madhya Pradesh for protection and rejected any “love jihad” narrative around her wedding, which she said followed Hindu rites. Bhosle added she is over 18 and showed her Aadhaar card to support her claim.
