Amaravati, March 25, 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the tourism sector at his camp office and directed officials to widen options beyond traditional temple and beach visits.
Plans include water aerodromes in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Srisailam and Gandikota, cruise tourism from Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam ports, caravan parks in Araku Valley, Chintapalli and Maredumilli, and amusement parks in Tirupati and Visakhapatnam.
A special committee under the Chief Secretary will fast-track projects and improve coordination among departments.
The state recorded 309.2 million tourist visits in 2025 with 21 per cent growth. To match this rise, the government aims to complete pending PRASAD and Swadesh Darshan works by May 2026, develop Godavari Pushkar ghats by August and open the historic Havelock Bridge to visitors by December.
It has also allocated ₹500 crore each for Visakhapatnam and Tirupati under the Iconic Destination Scheme.
