Amaravati, March 25, 2026:
The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) has kept retail power tariffs unchanged for FY 2026-27 after the state government committed to bridge the nearly ₹15,791 crore revenue gap faced by the Discoms.
This move prevents any hike across all consumer categories and delivers direct relief to households, farmers and businesses.
Domestic consumers about 1.13 crore in number will continue paying the same rates. Commercial consumers gain from a reduction in tariff from ₹12.25 to ₹9.95 per unit, helping nearly two lakh users.
The load limit for cottage industries has also been doubled from 10 HP to 20 HP, extending concessional rates to around 18,000 small units.
APERC further created a new subcategory for solar module industries to support renewable manufacturing in the state and reclassified certain units like water purification plants and printing presses to the industrial category.
