Amaravati, March 24, 2026: During a review meeting at the Nellore Collectorate, Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy assured local fisherfolk that the state government is moving quickly to resolve long-standing issues with Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
He highlighted concerns over high-powered boats from neighbouring states plundering fisheries and the suspicious release of seized vessels.
Officials have already tested a patrol boat, and two vessels with teams from marine police, forest, fisheries and fire departments will now conduct round-the-clock patrols until the fishing ban begins on April 15.
A state-level team, ordered by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, will visit the district and prepare a report for the Centre to seek a permanent solution.
