Amaravati, March 24, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has launched action against erring purified water supplying units for unauthorised power draw.

Chairman and Managing Director Sivashankar Lotheti directed officials to probe specific cases in Jammalamadugu, Kadapa district, and take strict steps against both the plants and any negligent staff.

The issue surfaced when a consumer from Rayalaseema flagged two plants that continued operations despite supply cut for dues running into lakhs.

Lotheti warned that anyone harming the company’s interests would face consequences. The crackdown aims to curb theft, improve revenue, and ensure fair power supply across the state.
