Amaravati, March 24, 2026: AIIMS Mangalgiri has launched a state-of-the-art Gamma Camera (SPECT-CT) and a dedicated high-dose therapy ward in its Nuclear Medicine department.
The new SPECT-CT system can perform over 30 types of functional scans for early and precise detection of diseases, especially cancers.
The high-dose therapy ward will offer advanced radionuclide treatment, particularly for thyroid cancer patients, to lower recurrence and improve outcomes. The SPECT-CT, installed at a cost of ₹10 crore, keeps scan charges affordable between ₹150 and ₹1,500.
