Vizag, March 23, 2026:
Bhupathiraju Anmish Varma, a Visakhapatnam-based MBA graduate and experienced mountaineer, has claimed a Guinness World Record as the fastest male to ascend the Seven Volcanic Summits one highest volcano per continent.

The expedition ran from October 23, 2024, starting with Mount Elbrus in Europe, to January 23, 2025, finishing at Mount Sidley in Antarctica.

Varma faced harsh weather, logistical hurdles, flight delays, and extreme isolation, especially in Antarctica.

A prior remark from fellow climbers that India lacked major mountaineering records spurred him to act. He responded by planning and executing the challenge within a year, drawing on earlier summits like Everest (2021) and Kilimanjaro.
