Amaravati, March 23, 2026:
NTR District Collector G Lakshmisha inspected the Bhagyanagar Gas Limited regulating station in Vijayawada and called on households, hotels, and industries to adopt piped natural gas (PNG).

He described PNG as a safe, cost-effective alternative to LPG cylinders, delivered directly through pipelines at a steady 21 millibar pressure. This reduces risks like leaks or explosions tied to traditional cylinders.

The collector stressed that while no LPG shortage exists now, PNG prepares the district for rising future demand and ensures supply during any crisis.

Infrastructure already supports up to 100,000 connections, but only about 9,000 are active. Several hotels have switched, showing real-world benefits.
