Amaravati, March 23, 2026:
The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai, has awarded fellowships to selected M.Sc. Marine Biology students at Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) in SPSR Nellore district.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences' Deep Ocean Mission, the programme provides ₹10,000 per month in the first year and ₹5,000 per month from the second year for one year.
The stipends support academic studies and research in ocean biology, advancing India's goals in deep-sea exploration and sustainable resource use.
Officials from NIOT and the mission attended the distribution event at VSU's Kakaturu campus, where Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasa Rao handed out the awards.
