Amaravati, March 22, 2026: Authorities in Kadapa district arrested eight people and confiscated 17 red sanders logs weighing about 327 kg, along with three vehicles used for transport.

The haul, valued at roughly ₹10.54 lakh, was recovered near Chilla Kanuma in Khajipeta mandal following a tip-off. Suspects from Tirupati, Kadapa, and Chittoor districts attempted to flee but abandoned their truck loaded with the protected wood. Forest and police teams acted swiftly, with some accused escaping the scene.
