Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana revealed plans to develop the historic Barashaheed Dargah in Nellore district with an investment of ₹9.8 crore.

Speaking after Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the shrine, he said development works halted under the previous administration will now resume swiftly. The announcement highlights the state's focus on minority welfare sites.

The minister also shared details of a new project: the country's first international-standard school for minorities in Nellore, funded at ₹20 crore on Waqf Board land. It will include modern facilities such as a swimming pool.

Local leaders, including Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, joined the event and received praise for pushing the initiatives forward.
