Vijayawada, March 20, 2026: Andhra Pradesh’s Animal Husbandry Department has directed unregistered independent milk producers and vendors to obtain FSSAI registration or licence without delay.

The push follows national concerns over milk quality, including recent adulteration cases that highlighted risks to public health.

Director of Animal Husbandry T. Damodar Naidu issued the advisory, stressing hygienic handling, proper processing, and safe sales.

Teams will inspect operations across the state to check compliance, with strict penalties for violations. Consumers should buy only from verified sources and report issues to local food safety officers.
