Amaravati, March 20, 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a video conference review from his camp office here today and ordered district collectors and senior officials to submit a detailed, comprehensive assessment of crop damage caused by recent unseasonal weather within two days.

Heavy winds, untimely rains, and hailstorms hit crops in 42 mandals across 12 districts, affecting maize on over 4,840 hectares, paddy on 1,534 hectares, black gram on 310 hectares, and horticultural crops like banana, papaya, chilli, vegetables, mango, orange, and lemon across 1,301 hectares in nine districts. Preliminary estimates put total losses at ₹63 crore, with field-level teams already compiling data.
