Newsroom, March 19, 2026: Hyderabad Police have formed the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST), a 28-member unit led by senior inspectors and operating from the old Begum Bazar police station.

Under Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar and in partnership with food safety officials, the team focuses on intelligence-led raids, monitoring unsafe practices, and strict legal action against violators.

It was inaugurated by DCP (Task Force) Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath amid rising cases of adulterated items like sweets, pastes, and ghee in the city.

A toll-free number, 8712661212, allows residents to report suspicions directly, with complaints also accepted via official social media.
