Amaravati, March 19, 2026: Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani and Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairperson C. Divakar Reddy performed the Bhumi Puja to launch expansion of the VIP road at Upparapalli in Tirupati.

The 1.1 km stretch links the SPMVV campus to the Ramanujapalli checkpost on the Chennai–Bengaluru national highway. Funded by TUDA at ₹9 crore, the upgrade includes road widening, footpaths, central dividers, and modern lighting.

The route sees frequent use by VVIPs arriving from the airport and offers Tirumala devotees a smoother exit toward Vellore and Bengaluru. Leaders described the work as a step to bring Tirupati's infrastructure to international levels, addressing past neglect in road development.
