Amaravati, March 18, 2026: National AIDS Control Organisation leaders have called on Andhra Pradesh authorities to urgently locate the remaining undiagnosed HIV cases by December 1, World AIDS Day.
Estimates place the state's total HIV cases at around 310,000, with 276,000 already identified an 89% rate and 86% of those on treatment.
The push came during a Vijayawada workshop involving district officials from 23 districts. NACO officials stressed a three-tier strategy to close the gap, ensure regular medication to lower viral loads, and prevent further transmission.
