Amaravati, March 17, 2026:
A delegation from the Vijayawada Hotels Association and AP Star Hotels Association met Civil Supplies Director Nupur Ajay Kumar in Vijayawada to demand solutions for the severe commercial cooking gas shortage gripping the state.

Hoteliers highlighted that supplies have dropped to 30-40% of normal levels over the past 10 days, with acute pain in districts like Anantapur and Kurnool.

They warned of potential total closures in the hospitality sector, risking jobs and food services. Following Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's directive, officials assured fair, proportionate distribution based on past consumption without favouritism between big hotels and small eateries.
