Amaravati, March 17, 2026: A division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court has pulled up the Special Investigation Team (SIT) over repeated delays in submitting its final report on alleged irregularities in the evaluation of APPSC Group-1 Main Examination answer scripts.

The bench, comprising Justices Battu Devanand and Avadhanam Hari Hara Nath Sharma, described the SIT's conduct as irresponsible and questioned its tactics to withhold the report, suggesting fear of close judicial scrutiny.

The court stressed that failure to honour its directions raises doubts about the probe's integrity.

It reminded officials of the judiciary's awareness of administrative delays and cautioned that direct confrontation could clarify their position in the system.

The matter stands adjourned to Tuesday for further hearing, with the bench hinting it may transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation if delays continue.
