Amaravati, March 17, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta paid floral tributes to Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu at the state police headquarters in Mangalagiri.
He garlanded the portrait and highlighted the leader's 58-day fast unto death, which played a key role in the formation of a separate Andhra State. Gupta noted that Sriramulu's sacrifice remains etched in people's hearts forever.
Similar gestures took place at the Vijayawada Police Commissionerate, where Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu offered tributes, and at the Krishna district police headquarters in Machilipatnam.
Across Andhra Pradesh, leaders and officials marked the 125th birth anniversary with events honouring Sriramulu's legacy as a catalyst for linguistic statehood in India.
