Amaravati, March 16, 2026: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana announced that technical processes for the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project are nearing completion.
A detailed study by RITES Limited, underway now, is set to wrap up in the next two months. The proposal currently awaits Union government consideration.
Speaking after a regional workshop on urban investment in Visakhapatnam, Narayana stressed fast-tracking the project post-study to achieve full completion within three years.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to boost urban infrastructure through funding tools like municipal bonds and central schemes.
