Amaravati, March 15, 2026: Medical professionals gathered at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in Tirupati for a conference on breast imaging advances.

They stressed that early detection through tools like mammography, ultrasound, and MRI remains the strongest defense against cancer's spread, particularly breast cancer in women.

Speakers noted rising cases among women and praised Andhra Pradesh's rural screening initiatives.

One foundation screened 15,000 women in a single constituency, identifying cancer in nearly 10%. SVIMS offers full diagnostic and treatment services, with calls for greater awareness and use of available technology.
