Amaravati, March 15, 2026: Communist Party of India cadres protested in Chittoor against delays in LPG cylinder supply and rising costs blamed on global tensions.

District secretary S. Nagaraju highlighted how small tea stalls, tiffin centres and roadside eateries struggle without commercial cylinders, leading some to close and leaving workers jobless.

He called for steady domestic and commercial deliveries plus crackdowns on black marketing, noting official denials of shortages clash with real experiences.

The issue ripples across Andhra Pradesh, where hospitality and street food vendors face rationed supplies amid prioritisation for households. Small businesses in cities like Vijayawada and Vizag report scaled-back operations or temporary shutdowns.
