Vijayawada, March 15, 2026: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Vijayawada branch, in partnership with the Vijayawada City Police Traffic Wing, held a 'Quality Walk' on Sunday to observe World Consumer Rights Day.

Students, BIS officials, and police officers joined the event, which focused on raising awareness about certified products and consumer protection.

Vijayawada Traffic Deputy Commissioner of Police Shereen Begum flagged off the walk and stressed the need for ISI-marked helmets to safeguard lives during road accidents.

BIS Director and Head Prem Sajani highlighted that only licensed ISI-marked helmets meet strict safety tests no uncertified ones can be sold or used.
