Amaravati, March 14, 2026: Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh issued a firm warning during a review with education officials: any lapse in the taste, hygiene, quality, or nutritional value of mid-day meals in government schools will face strict action.

He stressed that students deserve the same care as at home and that negligence in the Dokka Seethamma scheme will not be tolerated.

The directive follows an incident at a primary school in Mylavaram, NTR district, where a headmaster allegedly staged complaints about poor food quality and shared them online for negative attention. An inquiry found it to be deliberate misinformation.
