Amaravati, March 14, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh government is pushing forward with seven greenfield airports to strengthen civil aviation across the state.

Locations include Dagadarthi in Nellore, Kuppam, Amaravati, Srikakulam, Nagarjuna Sagar, Ongole, and Anantapur, with some costs still under review. Additional sites like Tuni-Annavaram and Tadepalligudem are also proposed.

The Amaravati project stands out as a key international airport, with Phase-I estimated at ₹4,700 crore under a public-private partnership model on design-build-finance-operate-transfer basis.

Authorities plan to allocate 4,500 acres via a new phase of the Land Pooling Scheme, as prior lands are unavailable.
