Amaravati, March 13, 2026: A video that went viral on social media showed children at Devanicheruvu Mandal Praja Parishad School in NTR district throwing away their mid-day meals, highlighting poor food quality that had reportedly persisted for months.

Minister Nara Lokesh, who oversees Human Resource Development, responded swiftly. He formed a three-member committee to probe the matter.

Following the findings, authorities suspended the school headmaster and changed the supplying agency.

Lokesh expressed sincere regret to students and parents, stressing that government school children deserve better care. He promised stronger monitoring and a new feature on the LEAP app for parents to report issues in real time.
