Amaravati, March 13, 2026: Minister Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for Sagar Defence Engineering's autonomous maritime shipyard and systems centre at Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour in Nellore district's Bogolu mandal.

The facility focuses on advanced technologies like unmanned surface vessels, autonomous underwater vehicles, and AI-driven maritime systems to strengthen India's coastal security and indigenous defence production.

Andhra Pradesh, with its second-longest coastline in the country, is leveraging this development to build a modern industrial hub along its shores.

The state government supports the initiative, which aligns with broader efforts to attract investments in emerging tech sectors while ensuring sustainable growth for local communities, including fishing families benefiting from upgraded harbour infrastructure.
