Amaravati, March 13, 2026: Andhra Pradesh police showcased quick thinking and bravery when three personnel subdued an armed suspect from Warangal. The incident unfolded during Operation Vajra Prahar on March 7 in Vijayawada.

Joint teams from the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) and NTR police raided a hotel room. The suspect, K. Murali, tried to fire at officers, but his weapon jammed.

He then attempted to escape. Head constables M.V. Saradhi Naik and P. Manohar, along with constable M. Krishna Kumar, chased and safely arrested him despite the danger.

DGP Harish Kumar Gupta presented the DG’s Disc Awards at police headquarters in Mangalagiri. He commended their alertness and resolve in a life-threatening moment. Senior officers, including those from CID and law and order wings, attended the event.
