Amaravati, March 13, 2026: Chittoor district police arrested two interstate suspects from Tamil Nadu on March 12 following a tip-off near Reddigunta junction on the Chittoor-Vellore road.

The accused Lallu Prasad (34) and Janardhan (31), both from Salem district face multiple cases in their home state, including serious crimes like murder and robbery for one of them.

The arrests stem from a February 5 midnight burglary in Durga Nagar Colony, Chittoor town, where thieves targeted a locked home after the owner left for a family event.

During questioning, the duo confessed to several house burglaries across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Police recovered property worth around ₹34 lakh, including gold and silver jewellery plus two vehicles.
