Amaravati, March 12, 2026: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has strengthened its LPG reserves to protect essential services at the hill shrine amid rising concerns over energy supplies due to the intensifying conflict in West Asia.
The temple authority maintains over 38 tonnes of LPG enough for more than a week of operations in large bullet tanks and commercial cylinders.
Daily use stands at nearly six tonnes: two tonnes for free Annadanam meals served to over one lakh pilgrims, and four tonnes for preparing famous Tirumala laddus.
TTD secured assurances from Indian Oil Corporation Limited for steady deliveries and arranged standby supplies from distributors. Two IOCL tankers from Chennai are en route to Tirumala.
These steps shield the shrine's core functions while broader commercial LPG shortages affect hotels and eateries in Tirupati and across India.
