Amaravati, March 06, 2026: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged multi-crore liquor scam from the previous YSRCP regime has arrested Katta Pranay Prakash, named as accused A-52 in the FIR.
Authorities took him into custody near the Indo-Nepal border after issuing a Look Out Circular, as he reportedly attempted to flee abroad. He faced questioning in Vijayawada before appearing in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court, which ordered judicial remand to Guntur district jail till March 13.
The case centers on claims of irregularities in liquor supply, where syndicates allegedly collected kickbacks worth thousands of crores by manipulating brand allotments and operations at government outlets.
