Amaravati, March 06, 2026: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Narayana outlined major steps during an Assembly discussion on budget demands to bolster urban infrastructure and services across Andhra Pradesh.

The government will hand over one lakh TIDCO houses to beneficiaries during Ugadi, with all pending constructions wrapped up by June.

Reforms aim to restore financial independence to municipalities, letting them handle revenues directly.

The municipal sector received Rs 14,538.68 crore in the current budget a nearly 5% rise prioritising drinking water, waste management, roads, and street lighting.

Safe drinking water will reach every household by 2028. In Amaravati, capital city infrastructure work is advancing rapidly toward full completion within three years.
