Amaravati, March 06, 2026: In a fresh setback for the opposition YSR Congress Party ahead of upcoming panchayat, MPTC, and ZPTC elections, several grassroots leaders including MPTC members, sarpanches, and local functionaries resigned from YSRCP and switched to JSP.

The event took place in the presence of JSP State general secretary Konidela Nagababu at the party's Mangalagiri headquarters, with additional joins reported from areas like Etcherla in Srikakulam district.

Prominent defectors include Tirumareddy Gowri Shankar, Mukka Saibabu Naidu, Battula Swathi, Tankala Ramakrishna, Errabolu Simhachalam, G. Narayana Rao, I. Appaladasu, and Rowthu Narayana Rao. JSP leaders highlighted that more YSRCP figures are expected to follow, citing attraction to Pawan Kalyan's leadership.
