Amaravati, March 5, 2026: Andhra Pradesh's government is committing ₹6,000 crore to construct over 200 new 33/11 kV substations in high-demand areas statewide, aiming to strengthen the power grid against rising electricity needs from expanding industrial, commercial, domestic, and agricultural sectors.

Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar shared this during Assembly proceedings, highlighting ongoing builds in load-heavy zones and specific advances in Vizianagaram district, including a 220/132 kV substation at Venugopalapuram expected by March 2027 after re-tendering, plus two 220 kV projects valued at ₹46 crore.
