Amaravati, March 04, 2026: Community medicine experts at Government Medical College in Ongole led energetic outreach on World Obesity Day, observed globally on March 4 under the theme "8 Billion Reasons to Act on Obesity."

They staged a public rally along Gandhi Road, performed street plays and health skits, and delivered dance and song sessions at Prakasam Bhavan to highlight balanced eating and active routines.

Free BMI and waist measurements drew crowds at the railway station, while talks stressed daily 30-minute brisk walks, cutting junk food and sugar, managing stress, and maintaining good sleep to prevent hypertension, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease.
