Andhra Pradesh's Roads Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy inaugurated a modern rehabilitation colony in Rapur for families displaced by the Ramayapatnam port project, providing homes and facilities to affected villagers.

Amaravati, March 04, 2026: Andhra Pradesh's Roads and Buildings, Infrastructure and Investment Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy inaugurated a rehabilitation colony in Rapur, Prakasam district, for families displaced by the Ramayapatnam greenfield port project.

The event supports communities from villages like Karlapalem, Mondivaripalem, Avulavaripalem, and Salipet.

One completed colony on over 23 acres houses 220 families from two villages with modern amenities including wide CC roads, drainage, reliable power, overhead water tanks, RO drinking water plants, and a planned skill development centre for youth jobs.

Additional sites are underway for 371 families from Karlapalem and 84 from Salipet, each receiving 5 cents of land for home construction.
