Srikakulam seeks new trains to secunderabad and tirupati

Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu has urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to introduce new trains from Srikakulam to Secunderabad and Tirupati, plus extra halts in the district, to boost North Andhra connectivity.

Amaravati, March 03, 2026: Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi and requested approval for new train services linking Srikakulam to Secunderabad and Tirupati.

He also asked for stops at stations like Mandasa, Pathapatnam, and Harischandrapuram to serve more local passengers in Srikakulam district.

The push ties into the emerging South Coast Railway Zone based in Visakhapatnam, aiming to improve rail links across North Andhra Pradesh and integrate better with air travel options.
