Amaravati, March 02, 2026: Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in Tirupati launched a 15-day remote drone pilot training course on Monday, backed by approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The program makes SVU the first general state university in the country to qualify as a Remote Drone Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) for non-agricultural categories.

Offered under the RUSA phase II initiative in collaboration with PBC Aerohub Private Limited and the Drone and Space Technology Consortium, the hands-on course targets students from engineering, sciences, arts, and management.

It focuses on operating small and medium-class drones, covering practical flight skills, mapping, airspace rules, and safety protocols. Successful participants earn DGCA’s Remote Pilot Certification, unlocking jobs in surveillance, surveying, agriculture, and more.
